Never run out of Hand Sanitizing Gel --- in an emergency, if you are without water, you can make it.
To be effective, hand sanitizers MUST contain a minimum of 60% alcohol by concentration.
Alcohol kills germs by dessication, meaning that it dries them out through rapid evaporation. When you buy hand sanitizing products read the labels! Make sure that whichever of those alcohols is listed, its concentration is between 60 and 95 percent. Less than that isn't enough. There are many recipes on the internet that result in an over-diluted mixture which will prove to be very ineffective at killing germs.
