I love to paint and love the words "low cost." No matter what the size of your budget, you can do some pretty amazing transformations with just the cost of a gallon of paint.
Two years ago, my husband and I slowly began transforming a neglected southern brick home, into a cozy mountain, place of peace.
Whether you are doing a renovation like us, or just bored with the current look, you can get amazing results with a simple coat of paint...and you won't have to charge up the credit cards.
So let me show you what we have done so far....
The kitchen was a disaster...
My son-in-law just confessed last week, that when my daughter first walked into the home we purchased in the Georgia mountains, she was shocked. On the way home he said she burst into tears stating, "I cannot believe my parents bought that house, it is a mess."
Kids...they think we can't tackle this? Sure, we can, and we can show them what determination is.
As you can see, it was a step back in time. Lights and ceiling fan were so outdated. But what you do not see is the layer of grease and dirt that needed to be scrubbed off the counters and walls. Not to mention the nicotine film that was on the walls. Yup, it was a job.
I will admit, I was having second thoughts there for a bit, but once we got all the "layers" of wallpaper removed (never again!) and the cabinets, walls and counters clean (took me a week) it wasn't so bad.
Paint--- that was what was going to transform this kitchen.
We decided (or I did anyway), to paint the cabinets and walls white. Until I decided on any other color scheme.
