The darkness of the storm clouds approaching brings anxiety. The time spent in the storm brings heartache, depression and often despair.
Who will you turn to?
In Psalm 142, David is hiding in a cave and in deep despair knowing there are those chasing him and seeking to kill him. Although there are many soldiers with him,he is alone in his deep despair.
God alone knows where we are in our storm and feels our anguish. Only He can set us free of this discouragement which is often unspeakable.
As we cry aloud in prayer we give Him our burden and submit to His will for our life. No need to panic, but the need to stay focused on Him for inner strength and comfort is foremost.
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7
When we put Him first and place Him as our highest treasure, we then can ask for His comfort, mercy & strength.
He hears. He will free us through praising Him. He will bless us and lift us up within. He alone gives strength through the storm.
As David was alone in that cave, as John was alone on the isle of Patmos, as Paul was alone in his confinement...they all understood that the Lord desires us to trust Him. He promises never to leave us or forsake us. Those promises are true.
Trust Him in all things. Praise Him in all things. Then look for the blessing He alone brings.
