The morning mist greets me every morning. Each new day reflects the handiwork of God and I realize just how blessed we are to be here. Except for the song of the birds, there is silence. Sweet silence.
Being away for several months in Florida, we are back where our heart is, in the mountains.
Strolling through the woods, we taken in the sweet pine-filled air that we hate to exhale.
The quiet, the calm. Is there a desire for you to get away from the crowds?
This is what I have named my home, "The Hydrangea House."
I simply love hydrangea plants in the yard and in the home. As summer draws to a close, I scout about looking for flowers to pluck, hang and dry, and the hydrangea are the first ones that I hang to dry.
While they are still healthy in bloom, I pick and place in water and let dry.
There must be a decorating hormone hidden in most women, and if there is, mine soars as summer ends!
So let's decorate our place of peace using natural items.
Imagine nothing but the
sound of the wind blowing
through the pine trees
and the swishing of
Imagine no sounds of man.
No planes, no sirens, no traffic noise.
There is nothing but the sound of nature.
You can actually hear yourself breathe.
This is simply living - not just existing.
Nature is the natural anti-depressant!
A delight to the eyes and a touch of freshness to the home, there is something about the scent of oranges that calms and refreshes!
The enjoyment that comes with drying oranges and apples for my wreaths is a DIY that I find great pleasure in.
