The first look. You pull up to the front of the home that you hope is your "forever cottage, cabin or retreat from the world. One glance and you know that this is what you want.
Time seems to stand still. This is where you want to be. This is your piece of heaven on earth. It need not be the biggest, the best looking or the most convenient. It is where your heart is happy and you can slow down and breathe.
Have you found your "simple" home?
Have you dreamed of downsizing, living simply?
More and more people are desiring to move away and build or purchase a home away from the crowd on more land and space.
There is a new found desire to simply "live." They follow their heart... desire to be up at dawn and wind down as the sun sets. No, we do not need to wholly remove ourselves from the world, but — people are looking for a life that is simplified. A life of simple living.
There is so much that you gain when you have less.
Think a bit... how much do you really need?
Can you eliminate your "wants" and live on what you need?
Can you live more inexpensively in the rural or country?
For most, the following are our major expenses:
Rent payments (or house payments)
Cars (do you need a $30,000 car?)
Food (do you need to eat out more than once a week?)
Clothes (do you really need to buy that?)
Medical expenses (have you considered Tele-medicine for non-urgent situations)
Entertainment (most grossly overspend)
Taxes (much cheaper in the country)
Utility bills (heating, cooling, etc. - I rather have a woodstove and trees to shade my home)
Can you do it? Can you see yourself living simply?
