As we all are eager to put away the heavy coats and window scrapers, the mountains are declaring, "Spring has arrived!" In the north Georgia mountains, the Spring breezes and newly emerged ferns are delightful. Dandelions, dogwoods, azaleas and cherry trees are showing off their color.
Yes, thank heavens it's time to come out of our hibernation and time to sweep off the front porch.
As winter gives in and the temperature rises, Spring emerges here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, bringing forth warm breezes, green foliage, wildflowers, and life. The Blue Ridge Mountains become the perfect place to come out of hibernation. Come out - enjoy the air, the view and the floral display!
Today, hubby and I went down to the lake and we took in all the glory that Spring exudes.
People are casting into the lake hoping to snatch fish that are still unprepared for the game of bite the worm... please. The wildflowers along the waters edge are delicate and fresh. Come enjoy!
Fresh air and blue skies, far from the smog and noise of the traffic, it is nature's tranquilizer.
The lake at sunset announces, "Look! This is life. This is real life. All the beauty that is here before you is for your benefit. Forget the rat race and live."
So as Spring begins and new life bursts forth, I hope you will allow your own life to burst forth and begin a new journey. A journey of living simply and not for "things" that own your life and that burden you down with debt and anxiety.
Get rid of things you do not need.
Forget the wants, live with what you need.
No, there are no chandeliers here.
Who needs them?
There is nothing more beautiful than a mountain sunset.
There is no light more amazing than the sun setting over the lake.
Now my friend, I am going out to sweep off the front porch and clean off the rocking chairs.
